Hello! My name is Thomas Gelman. I'm a recent graduate from North Carolina State University majoring in computer science with a concentration in Game Development. I also have a minor in music studies. Outside of school for several years I participated in the Video Game Development club, for which I served as an officer, and also have other hobbies such as art/animation that I have pursued for a while in my free time.
For my entire life I have always been passionate about the arts. I was especially fond of music as a child, but I also found myself loving to draw and even, on occasion, write. For that reason, and many others, I have always had a massive appreciation and passion for video games as a medium of collaborative art. There is no other field that requires quite as much variety of skill and creative thinking as video game development, and that is the primary reason why I find it so fascinating and would love to be able to contribute to the video game industry.
Currently, I spend a lot of time working on improving my abilities both inside and outside the classroom by participating in classes that require me to develop games and software as a part of a team, as well as game jams hosted by the Video Game Development Club at my school, and many other projects that test my ability to problem solve and think critically. I look forward to seeing where my career goes!
